J & A's Soaring White Sequoia of Acton
AKC Show Debut ~ March 15 & 16, 2008 ~ New England Sporting Group Association Dog Show
Northern New England Brittany Club Specialty and Supported Entry
Showing "Scooby" held a deep and personal significance for me. To be in the ring, showing the son of Timberdoodle, was a very proud and emotional moment for me.  At 10 months, Scooby is at the high end of the breed standard for height, he is full of substance and muscle, and his markings are not typical as he is nearly all white with much liver ticking.  We did place and win in the classes and sweeps we were entered in and had a lot of fun at the show.  While stares and comments from seasoned Brittany show exhibitors who don't know what we're all about do arise; it is fun to see how our developing line compares to others, to learn from them but mostly to have a good time.

I do have a dream - to one day have a Ch. J & A's Brittany - of both field and show, a dog that we bred.  I believe it will happen!  In the meantime,
Scooby, Treasure and Chrissy will help us learn more about handling and showing and we will continue going to the shows with friends and learning as much as we can.  I do hope to take some additional handling classes this spring.  There is so much to know!

As the one year anniversary of
Timberdoodles death approaches, I look to Scooby and see so much of his father and once again I'm thankful for the joy all of our dogs bring into our lives.

See you at the shows this summer!
