We share our small home in rural Acton, Maine with our well-loved Brittany family. Surrounded by acres of woodlands, fields, apple orchards, and lakes every season here is a great place for enjoying our "canine crew" of 7 Brittanys.
We do have pups available occassionally as well as started gun dogs. We are not a breeding kennel, a pet vendor, broker, or dealer. We simply raise the "type of Brittany your grandfather used to hunt with". We do have a selective program and when we do breed, it is with very specific goals are in mind:
Mild temperament with a biddable disposition
Preservation of strong natural hunting abilities
Functional conformation and type that pertains to the field,
according to the AKC Breed Standard.
We fully embrace the "DUAL QUALITY" concept that a Brittany is so well known for among all Sporting breeds. The pedigrees on our "About Our Brits" page reveal MANY well known National Brittany Champions of both field and show. We highly respect the breeding behind our dogs as well as the objectives and purposes for the Brittany as set forth by the American Brittany Club. You can learn how we got started on "About Us."
Although we are focused on the love of the dog, both given and received, our Brittanys are proving to be highly competitive in many venues i.e. field trials, conformation shows, agility, hunt tests, flyball etc. while exceling as a family hunting companion.
We believe the affectionate Brittany should be trained to be a well behaved member of an active family that understands their Brittany is truly happiest when hunting! Combining great genes with the known versatility of a Brittany means it willl happily hunt for it's owner in most situations.
Knowledge of the breed, combined with responsible, positive training, gentleness, love, and patience are the keys for a succesful longlasting relationship. Our Brittanys are OFA and/or PennHp evaluated, DNA profiled when applicable, and health guaranteed. We hope you enjoy our website and welcome your comments and questions.
